The study forecasts a robust domestic and export market for green hydrogen, ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), positioning South Africa as a key player in the global energy transition.

## Technical Feasibility
The project focuses on three primary hubs: Mogalakwena, Johannesburg, and Durban. Technical feasibility relies on the deployment of large-scale Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and Alkaline electrolyzers powered by dedicated 1.2GW wind and solar farms. Key infrastructure includes high-pressure storage vessels, repurposed pipeline networks, and ammonia synthesis plants. Desalination plants will be required in coastal areas to ensure a sustainable water supply without impacting local drinking water reserves.
## Market Analysis
The global green hydrogen market is projected to reach $250 billion by 2030. South Africa's Hydrogen Valley aims to capture 5-10% of the European and Asian export market.
